WARDEN'S COURT, LAWRENCE.
(Before Vincent Pyke, Esq., Ware en ) Wednesday, 12th June.
T. Brunton's application for an agricultural lease was adjourned until the 19th instant, in the absence of the objector's solicitor. H. M'Kee's application was also adjourned to the same day. Mr. Mouat for applicants ; Mr. Copland for objectors. Clark's' agricultural lease. The Warden gave his decision in this case, which has been standing over for some time. There are four parties applicants for leave to mine upon the ground, under the provisions of a reservation in the lease, and the matter has excited unusual interest, as it involves the right to a continuation in the Gabriels reef. His AVorshipsaidhehad come to the conclusion that Barrett and party, and Dods and party, had no claim to consideration, and that he had come to the conclusion that Clayton and party, and Varcoe and party were entitled to share the ground between them, in the proportion of six chains alorig the reef to Clayton and party, and four chains to Varcoe and party. Mr. Mouat for the other applicants, stated that as there could be no other mode of appeal, his clients would petition on the subject, and the Warden promised to forward such petition, if prepared in a reasonable time, along with his own recommendations.
