A PUBLIC APOLOGY.

(To the Editor.)

Sib, — Allow me and my friend a small space in your widely-circulated paper to apologise for tbe liberty we took last Sunday (May 12th) by tying our horses to the fence inside a certain party's paddock opposite the Wesleyan Church, Coal Creek, Teviot. But strange to say, when we came out from church we found our nags tied to the fence outside tbe paddock, on tbe roadside. Certainly in a Christian country like this one would expect to see a little more Christian spirit shown. I may state we were strangers in that locality, and being afraid our horses would turn restive was the cause of us using such liberty. Trusting this apology will meet tbe eye of the owner of tbe said paddock, and hoping be will in future, before be undertakes to perform (what I consider) such a rash act think what he is doing, — I am, <fee, ' Christian.
