Sib, — In to-day's issue " ()ne Interested " wishes to know the* reason why cattle are not advertised when impounded. I will tell him. Ist.. I consider it my duty to try and find out the owner, which would save him 10s. for advertising. 2nd. I might be allowed here to state a case. Suppose one of his cows to be impounded to day, and owner unknown, and I, without making any enquiry, transmit it at once to the "Gazette." The next .day he claims the cow, and I inform him that there is 10s. on her for advertising. He would very likely tell me that I had been sharp, gazetting his cow so soon. Lastly, if, by his judgment, I have erred in the past, it will be easily remedied in the future. — I am, &c, POUNDKEEPEB. Lawrence," May 2nd, 1872.
