EXPOSURE.
(To the Editor.)
Sic, — It has seldom been my luck to read in a respectable newspaper such inimitable rubbish as your Mount Benger correspondent supplies you with. These imaginary reports are by no means uncommon ; they are indeed looked for, and they excite real laughter and some gossip where it is least expected. Such was the report of the supper which was given in honour of Dr. Macdougall, of Eoxburgb. Now the fact is Mr. Onnond, of Ormond's Hotel, Eoxburgh, publicly invited to supper any one who felt they could eat, drink and dance, and the doctor happened to be one of the number. As for the speeches that appeared in the report, they only go to prove the strong imagination of your correspondent. In fact, it was a complete hoax throughout. There is no use in mincing matters ; let us have truth hv all
means, if there is such a thing expected from the quarter. — I am, &c,
Tkuth,
Roxburgh, March Bth.
