MAIDEN PLATE, of 35 soys. ; entrance, J 2 guineas ; weight for age ; distance, one and a half mile. For horses that never won an advertised prize exceeding £10, hack races and matches not included. LAWRENCE HANDICAP, of 60 soys., with a sweepstake of one guinea ; the second horse to receive amount accruing from sweep. Nominations, with one guinea enclosed, to be received by the Secretary up to nine o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, the 16th day of January, 1872. Weights to be declared in the Tuapeka Times of 18th January, and in the "Daily Times" of the 20th January. Acceptances, with 2 guineas, together with sweepstake of 1 guinea, to be received by the Secretary before 10 o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, January 23, 1872. Distance, one and a half mile. HANDICAP TEOTTING RACE, of 25 soys. ; entrance, 2 guineas ; distance, 3 miles ; no weight under lOst. 111 b. HANDICAP HURDLE RACE, of 50 soys. ; heats ; over four flights of hurdles three and a half feet high. Nomination, 1 guinea ; acceptance, 2 guineas ; distance, one mile and a distance. SECOND DAY. FLYING HANDICAP, of 35 soys. Nominations, with 2 guineas entrance fee, receivable up to 9 o'clock p.m. on Thursday, 25th January. Distance, one mile. TUAPEKA JOCKEY CLUB HANDICAP, of 100 soys., with a sweep of 2 guineas added, the amount accruing from sweep to be given to the second horse. Nomination, 2 guineas, receivable up to 8 o'clock p. in of the 25th ; and acceptances, 3 guineas , to 10 p.m. same evening ; distance, 2 miles. HACK RACE, of 20 soys. ; one mile heats ; confined to horses being the bona fide property of the person entering such horse at least one month prior to January 25, 1872, and residing within 20 miles of Lawrence. No weight under 103t. Entrance 2 guineas. PUBLICANS' HANDICAP, of 50 soys.; distance, one mile and three-quarters. Nominations, with 1 guinea enclosed to be received up to nine o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, 16th January, 1872. Weights to be declared in the Tuapeka Times of the 18th January, and in the "Daily Times" of the 20th January. Acceptances, with 2 guineas enclosed, to be received by the Secretary before ten o'clock p.m. on Tuesday, 23rd January. CONSOLATION HANDICAP, of 30 soys. ; for all beaten horses. Distance, one and a half mile ; entrance, 1 guinea. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Mares and geldings allowed 31b. All disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by the Stewards, or whoever they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of the programme shall be final. No person shall be allowed to enter or run a horse for any race in this Programme (post entry races excepted) unless the latter be qualified as the bona fide property of a subscriber to the Race Fund of not less than two guineas. Entries to be received by the Secretary, at his office, Peel-street, Lawrence, up to nine p.m. on Wednesday, 24th January. Entrance money, enclosed with name, age, and pedigree (if any) of the horse, and name of owner and colours of the rider. Any Jockey riding except in the colours entered will be fined £2. Five per cent, will de deducted from the gross amount of all stakes, for expenses. Horses walking over "vriil receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. The Tuapeka Jockey Club Rules will be strictly enforced, Parties entering protests will require to deposit one guinea. If protest should be sustained, the guinea to be returned. \VM.
