FIRST DAY.
Maiden Plate. — Maniototo, I : Hoaest John, 2 ; Saladin, 3. Handicap. — Yatterina, 1 ; Sir Tatton, 2 ; Exile, 3. Mount Ida Cup. — Slander, 1; Knottingley, 2. Selling Race. — Couiet, 1 ; Bounce, 2 ; Miss Alice, 3.
SECOND DAY.
Hurdle Race. — Honest John. 1. Mount Ida Handicap. — Backbiter, 1. Free Handicap.- -Backbiter, 1. Consolation Handicap. — Saladin, 1. Selling Race. — Pill- box. 1. He was sold afterwards for £27 10.
The following are the results of the Wakatip Races : —
FIRST DAY.
Maiden Plate. — Mr. Boye's Stagger, 1 ; Hermit, 2. Four others started. Town Plate. — Patch was made favouite, and won, Brunette being beaten hollow. Wakatip Handicap. — Mr. Atkins's Flora won easily. Handicap Hurdle Race. — Pretender had it all his own way, as in tht second heat Maid of the Mill jibbed at the second leap.
SECOND DAT.
District Handicap, 2\ miles. — Burgundy, aged, Bst. 1 ; Excelsior, aged, 7st Tibs, 2. Won by several lengths wich great ease. Six started. Consplation Handicap. — Brunette, I ; Excelsior, 2.
Somebody s«ys the best way to improve the lot of woman is to put a gobd house on it, and a go^d man in tho house.
