The following, which is compiled from an official time table issued by the Post Office Department, shows the days on which the San Francisco mail is due at and departs from Port Chalmers during 1872 :—
mers and Auckland is 6 days, between Auckland and San Francisco 24 days, and between San Francisco and London, from 19 to 20 days — total from Port Chalmers to London, 49 to 50 days.
