THE PRICE OF COAL.

(To tlie Editor.)

Sic, — I observe in your last issue that the Coalpit Company intend to raise the price of coal, unless outstanding accounts be promptly paid. I think if they do this, they will defeat their own object, as I for one will certainly not pay cash in future, if I am to be charged the same rate as those who get credit.

The most sensible way would be to charge cash customers the- same rate as at present, and credit customers say half-a-crown more, as it certainly is not fair to make a cash customer pay more, in order to let his neighbour run up a long score. — I am, &c, EEA.DT MoifET.

Lawrence, Nov 7.
