STOCK REPORT.

Messrs. Wiught, Sxephenson and Co. report for the week ending 16th Sept., as follows :—: —

Fat Cattle. — The market was only moderately supplied, about 20 he.ad being yarded, which we sold at prices equal to fully 27s per lOOlbs for prime quality, and 22s 6d for middling ditto. We also sold privately 20 head prime quality bullocks at 26s per 100 lbs.

Fat Sheep. — We cannot report any further rises in price, but a fair demand exists for good quality. 800 were penned, which we sold as follows : 200 merino wethers, 7s 9d each : 200 do, good quality, 31s toll's 3d. 100 halfbreds, light weights, 11s ; 300 crawlers, 2s 9d to 3s. We quote prime hulf-breds, 3|d per lb ; do merinos, 3d. Store Cattle and Store Sheep.— No transactions. Horses.— Good young draughts continue in demand. At our yards, on Saturday, we sold 46 head draught stock, ex Tararua, from Melbourne. There was a good attendance of buyers, and bidding was brisk, tho result being as follows : — On account of Messrs. Thomson and Bookless, 19 head, at from £Q4 to £63 ; on" account of Mr. John Trestrail, 15 head, at from L2O to £45 ; and on account of Mr. Isaac Gidney, 12 head, at from L2O to L 53. We quote first-class draughts, £55 to £65 ; middling do, £30 to £35 ; good hacks and light hhrness horses, £15 to £20 : middling do, £10 to £12 ; light and inferior, £4 to £6.

Grain. --We have no alteration to note in prices. Wheat — There is vrey little offering, and really good samples are worth 5s 3d per bushel. Oats— Demand limited. We quote feed 2s to 2s 3d per bushel ; milling, 2s 4d to 2s sd. Barley — Malting, if of good quality and colour, is worth 3s 9d to 4s per bushel ; inferior, 2s.
