Sir, — The Waitahuna Miners' Mutual Protection Oomtnittee, of which your correspondent in your issue of the 14th, instant speaks, was brought into existence several months ago, and boasts of being the sturdy means of preventing one or v two residents here from obtaining possession (for agricultural purposes) of large areas of auriferous land. .' "
Don't you, Mr. Editor, think if the Committee was not stuntud in its ideas, it would endeavour to developc the resources of the large areas of auriferous land they allude to. My curiosity is excited, being a miner, and I ask as a favour that the said Committee will not let its light shine under a bushel. £14 sterling collected to forward what? Who is the Treasurer of the Committee 1 Don Quixote has been read by many. — I am, &c, O. Waitahuna, September 18.
