A QUERY.

(To the Editor.)

Sir, — Perhaps some of your readers can give me some information regarding the doings of the Waipori Progress Committee. Not being good at riddles myself, I give it up. Evervboiy out here is crying out about the mucky state of our roads (if I may so call them}, but tije so-called Progress Committee do not seem to trouble themselves about the m-ifcter ; ami I slxmlr] like to know where we are to get relief from. lam told that every district is to get a certain amount of the revenue raised in it for different words, but ['m afraid Waipori will come short off, as our miners' rights, «fee, are all signed in Tuapeka. — I am, &c, Ned. Waipori, July 25, 1871.
