(B3fore W. L. Simpson, Esq., Warden.) Thursday, Apbjl 27. John Cormack and party's application for a tail race was opposed by James Casey and other residents in the gully. James Casey deposed that it was impossible for Cormack and party to erect a tail race without causing him to be swamped out. Robert Syms considered himself in the 3ome danger in case of flood, and valued }\h plucu nr L(io. He had no other serious nliJKotioti. ■ dward Lawson objected on the same grounds as previous witnesses, and valued his place at L2OO. It was his homestead, and he did not know any place where he could be so comfortable. Wm. Casey — I have a claim at Gabriels ; it is paying me very well. lam afraid if this race is erected I shall be flooded out. Application withdrawn.
