Messrs Wright Stephenson, and Co., report, for the week ending 22nd April as follows : — Fat Cattle. — Only one small draft, and that of rather ordinary quality, was yarded, which we sold at prices equal to 15s. to 173. per lOOlbs. We also sold, for forward delivery, 22hjad of good quality at £5 10s. each, equal to 18s. per lOOlbs. We quote prime quality 18s. to 20s. yer 1001b3. Fat Sheep. — The number penned was about 2,500, of which the trade took 600, and the Meat Preserving Go. the balance. We S"1<1, on account of W. A. Tomlie, Es^., 600 merino wethers, fair quality, at 6s. 9d. t) 7s. 3d ; on account of W. P. Gordon, Esq., 400 merinos and half -breds, at 6s. 9cl. for former and Ba. for latter ; also, privately, 500 fat ewes at ss. 3d. We quote prime half-breds at 2d. per lb ; ditio merinos, ljd. Fat Lambs. — We sold a draft on account of W. H. Teschemaker, at 7s. 9d. each. Store Cattle. — No transactions. We have for sale several fine herds, at reasonable rates. Store Sheep. — There is scarcely any alterationo to note in this class of stock, for which the demand continues active. Our sales consist of 1500 full-mouthed ewes- at 3s. 500 half-bred ewes at 6s. 300 three-quarter bred lambs at 6s. We quote half-brods, 2, 4. andb'-tooth, ss. 6d. to 6s. ; mixed ditto lambs, 53. ; merino wethers, 4, 6, and 8-tooth, 4s. 6d. ; fullmouthed ewrjs. 3s. ; mixed, lambs 3s. 6d. to 3s. 9d. each. Horses. — Our yards on Saturday were but poorly attended, no fresh stock having como forward. On Monday the 24th instant, we will offer a very superina shipment of young colts, ex Phoebe, from Wanganui, for which a fair competition may be anticipated. We quote first class draughts, £40 to £45 ; middling ditto, £25 to £30 ; first-class saddle and light harness horses, £15 to £18 ; middling ditto, £10 to £12 ; inferior, £1 to £5 each. Grain. — The advices received from Australia, reporting a pecline in prices, » , have not affected this market yet, aud we must still quote first-class samples of wheat at 4s. 6d, to 4s. 9J. per bushel; oats, feed, 2s. 4d. ; milling samplejH^ 2s. 6d. ; barley — well-dressed samples d^ good colour, suitable for malting — are worth 3s. 3d. to 3s. 9d. ; inferior, unsaleable.
