A young salmon, measuring seven inches, was caught this morning at
the junction of the Manuherikia and Clut'ha Rivers. Queenstown, Jan. 11, 11.58 a.m. Mr. Haughton had a most successful meeting here last night. Spoke for two hours, and carried the meeting with him. An attempted disturbance by rowdies failed. At Arrowtown on Saturday he was enthusiastically received. There is a great demand for agricultural land. Several new blocks about the Lakes are to be proclaimed open at once. Mr. Hallenstein, the Mayor, is a strong supporter of Mr. Reid,
