You inform me that there are also requisitions from other centres of the district which are not now to hand ; and such being the case, from my compara" tively free position, I cannot do otherwise than come forward ac once as a candidate. Should you return me, and should I at the same time be returned for the General Assembly, I will promise to use my utmost endeavour in uniting with the other Ota'^o members to make the interest of the province have its due attention from the General Government.
