Friday, Oct. 14.
Corporation of Lawrence v. M'Nickle. — Mr. Copland appeared for the defendant. This day there were forty-one residents summoned to appear to prove having paid their assessment to the late rates collector. Snni3 to the amount of £93 were proved to have been paid and not accounted for. Bofore the witnesses were all examined it was late in the day, and the Court adjourned. Some of the witnesses claimed and were paid the sum of 53. for attendance.
