REVENUE STAMPS.

(To the Editor of the Tuapeka Tiroes). Sik, — You would confer a greit benefit on the people of Switzers if you would bring the "powers that be" to understand the great injustice and inconvenience that is inflicted upon this community through there- being no supply of duty stamps obtainable Sere. At this moment, and for weeks past, not a sHlling impressed stamp- has been procurable - all bill transactions and' agreements have been for this period written upon two shilling stamps, and the last of these was used yesterday. Agreements are daily invalidated in the court through not being

properly stamped, and yet the Government fail to keep us supplied. You, of course, are aware that transfers of all mining property require to be authorised to the Warden by an impressed stamp, and therfore no transfers can now be made on this goldfield until a stamp is procured, and I believe the nearest place where one can be obtained at this moment is Lawrence, sixty-two miles off. Promissory notes requiring a sixpenny stamp have of late been given on two shillings stamps, and this was felt to be a great grievance, but it was nothing to the position we are now placed in, of having no stamps at all available. Pray take up this question in your own able style, and oblige. — 1 am, &c, " YbliaUoeg.
