The following items were passed :—: — Interest on Harbour Loan, £3700 ; Interest on Public Buildings Loan, £3300; Sinking Fund on Public Buildings Loan, £1210 ss. ; Sinking Fund on Harbour Loan, £13,620 ; Sinking Fund on Loan, 1862, £1455 ; Loan, 1861-2, £1233 ; Waterworks Guaranteed Interest, £2000 ; Otago Dock Trust, Guaranteed Interest, £3000; Floating Dock, Guaranteed Interest, £380 ; Guaranteed Interest, Port Chalmers Railway, £4500; Interest on Converted Debentures, £26,700 ; Expenses of Conversion, £4367 18s. 9d. ; Interest, Exchange, and Commission, £2500. The item Steam Service, £2200, was moved, and, after some discussion, passed. The item Home Agency, £1000, was passed. The item Immigration, £12,000, was moved, and discussed at some length. Messrs. Ashcroft, Henderson, Mosley, M'Dermid, Reynolds, Hutchison, and Shepherd opposed the item, and Messrs. Shand, M'lndoe, and Allan supported it. ! On the motion of Mr. REID, the House adjourned at 12 p.m. till 2 p.m. on Monday.
