(Before W. L. Simpson, Esq., R.M., and H. Baslings, Esq., J.P. Thursday, March 31. Harris v. Gibbs.— Claim of £11 6s. 6d. Defendant did not appear. Judgment for amount claimed, with £1 11s. costs. Hay v. Donovan. — Claim of £5. The amount was paid into Court. Long v. Wootton.— Claim of £1 14s, Adjourned till Monday, the 4th April. Hall v. Keen for E. DeCarle.— Claim of £3 17s. 6d. Case withdrawn; the amount having been paid. Police v. All Ching. — Ah Ching, a Chinaman, was brought up, charged with having stolen a portion of a door valued at 20s. He was found guilty and sentenced to one month's imprisonment with hard labour in Lawrence gaol. Monday, April 4. (Before the same Magistrates.) Long v. Wootton.— Claim of £1 14s. for being detained in consequence of a summons to appear in this Court. Verdict for £1 and costs.
