BLUE SPUR SPORTS.
The New Year's sports at the Spur were carried out with great spirit. There was a large concourse of people, and the competiton f or each game ran high. The rifle match, for which there were 24 entries, was very exciting ; and there was a deal of amusement occasioned by some of the Merry-andrews during the footracing and wrestling. The following is a list of the successful competitors. Quoits — 8 entries. Robinson Ist prize ; Meloourne, 2nd. Heavy Stone — 8 entries. John Cormack, Ist : Cottan, 2nd. Rifle Mateh — 24 entries. John Grant, Ist ; T. F. Morris, 2nd. Hop Step and Jump — M'Neill, Ist. 200 yards Foot Race— M'Neil, Ist ; Neill, 2nd. Boys Race, under 15 years — M'Millan, Ist. Boys Race, under 10 yrs. — -Mooney, Ist. 100 yards Race— M'Neill, Ist. Wrestling (Cornish) — John Tyson, Ist ; Bailey, 2nd. Girls Race— C. Spives, Ist ; E. Hay, 2nd. Three-Legged Race — Cowie and Xeill, Ist.
