CHURCH PSALMODY.

(To the Editor of the Tuapeka Times.) Sir,— I have seen a great deal lately in your paper regarding this subject, and I think it high time the committee, or whoever has the control of the matter, should adopt one of two courses, either reinstate Mr 3. Brunton. or call a congregational meeting, unless they have private spleen to gratify, or are a little ashamed of their conduct towards her — perhaps a little of both. They cannot, however, with reason, hesitate to adopt one of these two courses, as it raiufc be evident to them, that the present state of things is not at all satisfactory to a large portion of the congregation, notwithstanding its cheapness. Your last writer on this subject (" Seatholder ") accuses a previous one (" Presbytej'ian ") of "ignorance and one-sidedness." Now, Mr. Editor, I agree with the sentiments expressed by " Presbyterian," and consider that " Seatholder's" accusations apply to himself with more truth and propriety ; for example he says, "Mrs. Brunton resigned and the committee had no alternative." If this is not one side with a vengeance. He does not tell us why she resigned. Perhaps if we heard the other side, she had no alternative either but resign ; so much for " Seathokler's " conclour. — I am, &c Axothjsr S
