A SPRING EVE.
The dying day was robed in splendour, -^Jid the soft, dew-laden breeze, Iti cadence low, with music tender, Warbled sweetly through the trees. Old Earth with joy was welcoming The advent of the youthful Spring. Yon distant hills in purple shrouded Gorgeous grew as night drew nigh, With varying tints, and brow unclouded, Soaring 'gaiust the blushing sky. They in thejr beauty spemeu to'pivy A trsute to the dying day. soon Night's pall o'er tlarth descended— Wrapt in gloom the closing day ; tint with tint was softly blended,— Changing;, fading fast away, vanished with the waning light, KLnd slowly deepened into night. nthers tones, Sept.
