John M'Teague was charged with being drunk and disorderly in a public place on the 2oth instant ; also, charged with assaulting and resisting the police; also, with having damaged a constable's uniform to the amount of 10s ; also, with having, whilst in jail, damaged jail property to the value of 15s. For the first charge he waß fined 205., or •forty-eiglit Koui's' imprisonment ; on the second do., 50s. and 4s. costs, or fourteen days' imprisonment. On the third and fourth charges, the respective amounts to be paid by prisoner.
Matthew Hickey was charged with charged with having, on same day, attempted to rescue the prisoner, and assaulting the police. Fined $5, or one months' imprisonment.
