On Monday a meeting of Athenaeum Committee did not take place, owing to the impossibility of musteriug a quorum. We have already commented on the disgraceful manner in which the Aihenjeum Committee neglect the trust entrusted to them by the public, but apparently without any good result, and we are hopeless of any improvement until the majority of the present members send in their resignations.
An old man, known by the sobriquet of " Captain," who works along with Mr. Redden on the Tqapeka Creek, met with a serious accident the other day. Dr^Halloy dressed the wound with his usual ability ; and the sufferer is, we believe, doing well.
