A moment Joseph, stood amazed, And oa tha daring caitiff gnzsd, Then rushed towards tha door. He turned the key, and all on iiro H3 rashe.l upon the recreant squire, And laid him oa tho floor. Piercely the battle raged awhile, An.l round about for many a mile - With terror <md dismay, All he.ird the thudding sound of blows, While loudly cries of murder rose, Aud spoke the deadly fray.
