ENTERTAINMENT AT WAITAHUNA.
Our friends at Waitahuna, resolved to run us close in everything, have just completed "a commodious and convenient hall for public performances. To defray tho expenses of this an entertainment was given, at which the Dramatic Club sustained their well-earned fame. Before the performance of " Bombastcs Furioso," many excellent songs were s,ung by that irresistable comique Mr.-, Devonshire, Mr. Bayliss (a beautiful' singer), Mr. Pennell (a most humourous vocalist), and Mr. Hamilton, a Waitahuna old identity. A coloured individual of the name of Anthony also favoured the company wit'a a couple of songs, which were -well received. Mr. O'-Keefe read the " Wreck of the Hesperus," and Mrs. Fowler "The Brave Irish Fisherman," in a most pleasing manner, and both received their due guerdon of praise. On the whole, the entertainment was equal to those for which Waitabuna is becoming so deservedly celebrated, and, from the attendance, we should imagine remunerative to the Assembly Room Committee.
