MUNICIPAL WORKS.
(To the Editor of the Tuapeka Times.) Sir, — In your last issue I see a letter signed " Quaker," and as he attempts to insinuate that favor has been shown me j by the Town Council, as owner of two houses on the Beaumont Road, and thereby would attempt to make people believe that as. I am a councillor*! have some hand in it, I would^ inform " Quaker^ajid the ratepayers. in^general, that I had neither hand, .act, nor part in it 'But if he will gi^e^ l himself the trouble to go and visii^fieXspot, the reason will be quite palpable to him I am sure. In conclusion I would inform him that in my opinion we might as well "Bay to the moon," as to expect evenhanded justice from the Council, where private interest is so much at(stake.— l am, &c, JOXK D#XCfAX.
