The Chairman and Secretary having responded by returning their thanks, the Committee was declared dissolved. The public meeting referred to in the above proceedings, then took place", Mr. W. Farrant being elected Chairman ; but the notice calling the meeting not having beon doomed ouffieient, it wa3 proposed by Mr. Dunn, and seconded --" That the meeting be adjourned to Monday, the 17th instant, at eight o'clock ; and that sufficient notice be given by posting noti ces in various parts of the district." On being put, this motion was carried, and the meeting was adjourned till the day named above.
