UNITED CLUB WIN IN HARRIS CUP RACE. The annual carnival of the Kast Christchurch Amateur Swimming Club was held this afternoon at. the school baths, under perfect swimming conditions. There was a large attendance of club members and visitors, and the baths presented an animated appearance.. A lengthy programme of events was put through. Following are the results of the racing:— HARRIS CUP RELAY RACE. United A (R. Wilkinson. R. B. Wheeley, W. Sutherland, M. M. Meikle, and A. T. Ellis (United) 2 Time—lmin 19 4-ssec. 100yds Junior Boys championship— H. Schon (United) 1. The only starter. Time—lmin 20 3-ssec. 75yds junior girls championship— Muss Berry (Fendal ton) 1. Time—6s 440 YARDS MEN’S CHAMPIONSHIP. P. Lindsay (East Christchurch) . . 1 A. T. F. Stokes (East Christchurch) 2 L. Hill (Fendalton) 3 Time—smin 41sec. This time constitutes a record, the previous best being N. S. Batchelor’s smin 45 3-ssec, in 1923. Won by about a length. 220 YARDS INTERMEDIATE BOYS’ CHAMPIONSHIP OF CANTERBURY. L.
