THE OLD WINDMILL.

To the Editor. Sir,—Mr Thompson, in last Saturday’s “ Star,” states that the old windmill stood on the site now occupied by the Crown Brewery, two or three chains from Antigua Street, and one chain from St Asaph Street. Now, sir. during the last sixty years I have forgotten quite a lot of things, but I have not forgotten where the old mill stood. It was not on the Brewery rite, but. was seven chains from St Asaph Street, and little more than one chain from Antigua Street. Mr Pawsey was the miller, and iived in St Asaph Street. The line of peat mentioned b\” Mr Thompson was much further back than he says, as I don’t think there was any peat north of Morley’s Lane, now called Balfour Terrace.—l am, etc., J. BUTCHER, 23, Harper Street.
