MEETING 1 OF COMMITTEE. i ■■'■■■■■- A meeting of the Committee of ' theTe Puke Hack Racing Club 1 was held in Montgomery's Hotel on Tuesday night, 16th inst.; Mr J, F. Wintle presided, and there were present Messrs Wright, A'. Washer, f. Mulgrove, L. Kerr, .J. McEweh, L. Harris, J v Scan.lon, R. Brownlee, and Ai Mont- .* gomery'. . ' ;■'.-.:■ The minutes of the; previous meeting, were read and con- ' firmed.' . A telegram was read from the - Metropolitan Club notifying that ' the programme had been duly passed. •- It was decided that the resolti- ' sion previously passed, to the effect that there be only six races <jji the programme, be rescinded, and that a race be added of the value of £5 for Maori-owned horses within a radius of fifteen miles.* ,'■ The date upjto which nominations can be received was fixed for January 12th, weights to be , declared on January 16th, .and p , Acceptances to close on January '- v ?2nd. It was further resolved „ that the weights be published iri the Te Puke, Tauranga, Whakatane and Opotiki papers. ' The Secretary was empowered 1 to make arrangements regarding the refreshment booth. It was resolved that the Club retain the gate privileges, and that the appointment of gate--1 keepers be left over until the next meeting. A discussion ensued concerning motorcars 'plying on the course for hire, but action was deferred until next meeting.
