PAYMENTS TO JUDGES
A return tabled in the House of Representatives sho'ws that the Judges of the Supreme Court were paid the following salaries and travelling allowances last year:—Chief Justice (Sir Robert Stout) £2,271 (salary £2000); Mr Justice Williams L 2.271 (salary L1.S00): Mr Justice Denniston L 2.275 (salary LI, 800); Mr Justice EdwardsL 2.357 (salary (LI,800); Mr Justice Cooper, L 2.418, (salary L 1.800); Mr Justice Chapman, L 2.132 (salary L 1.800): Mr Justice Sim, travelling expenses and allowances, L 229. . The Judges' Associates were paid between L2OO and L3OO travelling allowances and expenses.
