The Te Puke Times FRIDAY, DEC 5. THE PRICE OF MEAT.

Butchers in Hamilton have evidently found a difficulty in getting; their money in, and in consequence ;,have ..not, only, raised the price of meat, values of which are now about 2d per lb higher all round than locally, but have inaugurated a strictly cash system. The regulations they have adopted are most stringent. All orders for meat have to.be given the day previous to that for which it is required, and it has to be paid for on delivery, or otherwise it is taken back to the shop. No exceptions are made in this connection. It is a case of 'Nomoney, no meat.' Customers who purchase at the shops are allowed a discount of 5 per cent. The innovation is one that will be watched with interest.
