SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
MONTHLY MEETING.
Tne monthly' meeting of the Te Puke School Committee was held on Tuesday evening. Present : Messrs R. King (Chairman), F. Arkle, E. Hoyte, T. E. Palmer, and O. J. Hodge (Secretary).
. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
A letter 'was read from the Education Department, with reference to the name of the To Matai Sawmills School being altered to the " Upper Te Matai School." The matter was left in the hands of the Chairman, Clerk, and Mr Carson, the master. The Clerk 'was instructed to draw the attention of the Board to the inadequate provision for attendance at the No. 1 School, particularly for the infant classes. Accounts for payment were passed as'follows :~T. E. Palmer £3 2sßd, King & Co., £3 2s 7d, Hill Indenting Agency £4145, Times 8s 6d; Champtaloup and' Cooper 19s lid. It was resolved that all. head teachers be asked to confer with the Committee with reference to arranging for the annual treat. : The meeting then terminated.
