Gisborne, This Day. At Matawai yesterday morning a man named Grey Fitzgibbonwas shot, it is alleged, by Michael Manns, another worker on the railway line. It is alleged that ill-feeling existed between the two men, and accused had waited behind a log opposite a boardinghouse, and when Fitzgibbon came out from breakfast fired with a Winchester rifle, the bullet entering Fitzgibbon's right leg above the knee. Manns was arrested, and was brought to town to-day.
