EXPRESSE3TmUNGNES3 TO DIE. ; New York, September 20. 1 The Rev, nans Schmidt, who is in prison on a charge of having ' murdered Anna Aumaller, whose dismembered body was recently found, is, the police aver, the most remarkable criminal product of the present age. Schmidt, in answer to questions ! by the police, declared that he believed in an easy death. The right to end the suffering in people's lives painlessly was merely carrying out God's will. The lives of all crippled persons, he is said to have declared, should always be mercifully ended. Amongst Schmidt's possessions word number.* of physician's death certificates, which he admitted. he intondeJ to use to show that Aumaller's death was caused naturally. He said he afterwards decided to cut her throat, dismembsr the body, and and throw the remains into the river. Schmidt declared that ho was ready to die. " The District Attorney wants to see me in the electric chair, so what is tho use of delaying."
