CONCERT AT PONCAKAWA.

' Under the auspices of the Pongakawa Tennis Club, a most enjoyable concert was held in the local Schoolhouse last Friday evening, the following: programme being reiulercd: —Pianoforte duet. Misses Snodgrass; "Home, Sweet Home," quartette party ; "The Men of Harlech," male quartette; "The Rosary,'; and other songs, Miss Phillips' recitation, Mr Evand Carr; hum orous recitation, Mr F. Terry Miss Matthews, and Messrs Wat* son, T. Beare, A. Climie, B. Ben* ncr, and Matthews also contributed items. Everything was well receircd, and encores were numerous. The concert was brought to a close by the singing of the National Anthem, after which, through the kindness of the ladies, a sumptuous supper was handed round. Dancing was then indulged in, and kept up till the early hours, when the assent* blage dispersed, thorougly well pleased with their evening's entertainment.
