BRITISH STATESMEN
IN AUSTRALIA. Sydney, Thursday The Government entertained the British Parliamentary .visitors at'a State banquet in Parliament House last night, a distinguished gathering attending. The speeches by Mr Holman (Premier of New South Wales), Lord Emmott, and others sounded a strong Imperialistic note.
Sir Joseph Walton (Liberal M.P. for the Barnsley division of Yorkshire) has arrived in Sydney. After a tour of Australia he will gi with the party to New Zealand, spending at least, a week tiere,
Lord Emmott, speaking at the luncheon, said:—"The more I S3e the more I am convinced that the time has come, or is rapidly coming, when it will be necessary for the most important statesmen at Home to try and make themselves more familiar with the actual conditions of affairs in tne Dominions.
In the evening the 1 Governor (Sir G. E. Strickland) entertained the visitors at an Empire Ball. The visitors are now split into sections, visiting the beauty spots and places of .interest.-.
