'NINE DAYS'. HUNGER '' STRIKE London, April 13. Mrs Pankhurst, who has been hunger-striking since sue was sentenced nine days ago to three year's imprisonment for inciting militant suffragettes to acts of violence, was released to-day on license for a limited period, under • tne terms of the new Act, which provides •that' hunger - strikers may be released,''and on restoration to health returned to the prison' to complete their sentences. Mrs Pankhurst' was removed to a nursing home. Her friends describe her condition as very grave.' From the time she was sentenced, Mrs Pankhurst refused to take anything but water. .She was tempted to eat with attractive food, such as chops, steaks, and chicken. As her strength declined,, more delicate dishes such as custard and jellies were set before her, but in. spite' of their appetising odours, she remained unyielding and refused all drinks except water.
