SOUTH ISLAND MARKETS There was a full yarding of: fat cattle at Burnside last week,. 220 head of medium quality bullocks and heifers* with 4 few, pens' of good cattle. Owing -to the numbe'* forward, pices showed no improvement Qn last week's rates. :'■ , \ Best bullocks, £11 10s to .£l2 10s; extra, to £14 17s 6d; medium to good £10 to £11 light, £810s to £9; extra, £11; medium to good. £610s to £7105. } Fat Sheep.-Prices of [prime sheep were better than! those ruling last waek, but, formedium and light-weights, therp was little improvement on last Week's rates. Prime wethers, 20s to 23s Gd'; extra, to 30s; medium to good, 18s to IDs 6d: light, 16s to 17s; prime ewes, 18s t0,203; extra heavv, to 28s, medium to good, 12s Gd to 16s. . \ Fat. lambs. • -Freezing buyers were operating freely, and prices were fully equal to last week's rates. Best, 18s Gd to 20s; extra good, to 25s 3d; medium to good' 15sGd to 17s Gd; light, 13s to 14s Gd. Pigs.-Prices for Irconers and porkers were a shade better than last week's rates, and store pigs also sold well. Suckers, 13s to 17s; slips, 17s to 245; stores, to 28s;; porkers, 33s to 455; light baconcrs, 5;~s; heavy, to 725.
