The guileless youth submitted his upper story to the comb and scissors, and was complimented by a dozen who were waiting their turn upon the vast improvement. "There," said the boss, triumphantly, "that's the way we turn a man out of this warehouse ; and if you have the courage your calling demands, your will speak out and tell these gentlemen where the last tornado swept over yotir countenance." " Oh, I don't mind, Mr 5.," replied the exhibit; " and if you want particularly to know, it was that young man of yours who done the ' houso-of-correction" business for one this forenoon." Then a wave of depression rolled slowly over two men in that crowd, and a small voice called out " Next ! "
