HONESTY RE WARDED.
A navvy employed on the College Hill Road cutting was strolling down to Neville's Suffolk Hotel the other day, whan his eye lighted upon a lady's reticule, Avhich he found to contain a large sum of money The man returned to his work, and him <^ the bag on the fence, so that the loser might see it. Shortly afterwards a lady, attired in black, with a large white featherin her hat, was observed driving up and down the road in a buggy drawn by a brown horse. On passing the workmen she asked if anyone had found a black bag containing money. " Yes " wag the reply, and the reticule waa restored to her with- it«
contents intact. She was about to drive off, without even saying "thank you," Avhen onej%fc'&4ue?;pjusn, who is a bit of a wag, rema'rlS)id-;'-'"-I think that's worth a drink, nitt^d,;'? • . Fumbling about in the reticule "the lady produced a shilling and handed it to the finder. Comment would bo superfluous. Honesty is its own reward.
