A NEW ZEALAND EXPERIENCE.
Converted to G-od some eighb years ago, I ■launched out into the world, enjoying " the peace in believing ; " but this was not sufficient to keep my daily walk " in the light," and I jgradually backslid until the arrival in these parts of the American Evangelist Brothers, Phelps and Thomas, who have successfully pointed me, and have been the means under God of leading me into the way of obtaining the second blessing (sanctification), wherein I now "joy in the Holy •Crhost." I have been sanctified wholly in answer to prayer, and my first step is the entire con- * eecration of myself to God, body, soul, and •spirit (which is my reasonable service) ; the next, to put on the blue ribbon and give up smoking — a habit to which I have been addicted for something over twenty -two years, and the appetite for which was immediately removed by the prayer of faith, and lastly, having emptied myself before the Lord, He in return filled me with His Holy Spirit. I commend my ways unto Him who " will guard me through faith unto salvation." — 0. N. McMurdo, Medical Officer, Rod. Meet Club.— War k worth, N.Z., July 3, 18S4. — I*7o converted (Thomas), three churches, and all dead nearly ; but the Holy Ghost is quickening many. [This is taken from the Christian Witness and Advocate, of Bible Holiness, printed in Boston, July 3, 18S4. The doctrine of Holiness has not been taught or witnessed to as an instantaneous work taken from Thomas' letter, 20fch May, 1884 ] All this may be as clear as mud to some people, but we'll be hanged if it conveys any meaning- to us. However, we are exceedingly , glad to learn that Charley McMurdo, in whose spiritual welfare we -entertain the deepest interest, has found the true Physician at last.
