We had serious thoughts of starting a " Verandah Insurance Company " seeing the raid that ;-jhas been made upon them lately by irresponsible carts and horse 3, but have abandoned the idea on' maturer .reflection, boing convinced that our worthy tradesmen, who are never averse to turning an honest penny, would immediately invest all • their spare capital in building verandahs, insuring them heavily, and employing very littlo boys, to drive very big horses, with two or three kerosene „. tins attached to their tails, and half an ounce of snuff up thoir nostrils, up and down Queen-s troet.
