In response to the offer of a pound prize under this head, we have received such a very large number of replies that we find it will take some time before we can announce the name of the victor. X.Y.Z. (665 words) is disqualified through having used Scriptural and Greographical names ; and we have to verify the words (448) used by Mrs C. Hammond, Ngaruawahia ; by Viator (446) ; Emily Smith, Springhead, Whangarei (438) ; E. B. Mason, South-street, Newton (424) ; and by a correspondent, name not given (423 words) . We shall offer another prize or prizes under this head next week.
