Mv o'. J. Cdyer, of Wharepoa, wrote asking the Council to attend to the cleaning out M tho upper portion of the outlet drtiin oo the south sidle of Elliot's: rttad 1, as the settlers ara now attending to. the clearing of tho lower portion. Oil the motion of Or* BaK,."seconded by Or MlcC'ormiciki, it was decided to havei the wtoatta calmed out. • -rßload a* Tinker's Gully.— .
Tha Etaigiineea* was instructed to report on an application ibiy the manager of the Watchman niino for assisitian.ee in putting the road 1 down Tinker's Gully in repair to allow his company to cart timibier down. —Matatofci Drain.—
Messrs W. J. Hall, A. Campbell, and A. 'Wioiodl wrote aslking the Coundil to have the drain on the north side of the roiad cleaned out), and offering to pay half the cost of cleaning .the., portion adjoining tli'edr properties.
It was dbcidted to inform the writerg tlilat when half tliier'cost of cleaning thje whole dbin is oaid iby the settlers fr'ooa the mouth up. —Road l at Wlaitakiaruru.—
Isaac Haley, of Wiaiitalkaruru, wrote re the state of tha road from the bridge over the Waiibafcaruru ■ Creek up through the bush to the foot of the hills. >H|e also! complained of the 'state of the laijgle road dr'aiin adljoining his property, and offered to clean tills out provided that the Co'UMcil contributed 2ls per chain towlards the coat).
