MR WILL CROOKS RESOLUTION
DEFEATED IN THE HOUSE.

LONDON, April 27. In the House of Commons Mr Will Crooks' resolution in favour of the l"«islattui"o establishment of a iv.inimum wagie of 30s weekly for -every adult worker waa talked out. Mr I-T. J. Temnaufe FJaid the Government was unable to accept the amendment, inasmuch as. such legislation was in defiance of economic! law's and would prove disastrous. He calculated the resolution would involve ait annual charge of 88 millions. They must leavfe the settlement of rates orf wages to the free play of economic* forces.
