GOOD' WO'llK. I3IY THEI SIT. JOHN
SOiaiIEITY.
Tina St. John Ambulance Brigade has 72 corps and divisions on its roll and the membership has reached 1486. The operations of the society extend from end to end of New Zealand. Tlio annual returns forwarded by divisions show thaib the number of first aid oases attended to on public duty was 588, as against 358 for the previous year. It appears to be now becoming batter 'known to the general public that memibers 1 give their serviciew gratuitously in connection with the i icon oval and transport of siick and injured persons. The a.ttendlaaiae of memlbers of the Brigade afc race and spoils meeting's, football matches), ■ agricultural shows, and other gatherings throughout New Zealand shows a worked increase and itis gratifying to tha society to know that t-ho controlling- bodies of thesevarious functions now thoroughly recoenise thd value of ambulance-
training*, and reg-ularry prefer re<qucsits for the presence of its members whose services have beeo recognised! in very laudatory terms, and in a number 1 of instances by suibs-tan-tial donations to the funds. Themovement is ii good one and it is. to be hoped thai the local branch will, during the cominc year, receive the support it deserves, sueelaed! in interesting the geaier'al public in the work and seicure the co-operation of any ladies and gentlemen who are interested in its operations.
