Thames Jockey Club's Summer Meeting.

The following was the result of the concluding events, run after we went to press yesterday, of the first day's races of the Thames Jockey Club.

Selling Hack Race, of lOsovs. Dis-

tance, one mile ; catch weights. Winner to be sold for 20sovs; any surplus to go to funds of Club. Post entry. Chadwiek's Worm „. ... ... 1 Marphey's Kate ... ... ... 2 Taylor's Bon Jour ... 3 McWUliams' Assay, De Har's Navigator, Hohepa's Maori Win, Simpson's Black Rose, and A. Gordon's Tippet also ran. Considerable difficulty was experienced in getting the horses away, and Tippet bolted twice, going fully a quarter of a mile ere he could be pulled up. At length, however, the field was sent off to a fair start, and after a keenly contested race, Worm worn by two or three lengths from Kate, Bon Jour being a good third. The winner was bought in by the owner (Mr Chad wick) for £24. Dividend, 15s, (10s tickets). . :

Robertson's Kalo (Durston) ... 3 The only other starters, oat of eleven acceptors, were Mr Carter's Rewi, 7st lOlbs (Pearson), and Mr Chad wick's Flageolet, 6st dibs (Huxtable). The horses were sent away in fair order, Rewi and Kalo at once assuming the lead. Ere the grand stand was reached, however, Kalo had the lead, closely followed by Mystery and Rewi. Coming into the straight, Wood called upon Kaiwaka, who came with a rush, but could not overtake Mystery, who won well in hand by a length, Kalo a good third. Dividend, £1 Bd.
