AUSTRALIAN.

[Received December 29, 1.30 a.m.] Sydney, This day.

Sir John Robertson has issued a political manifesto, which refers principally to the Land Act of New South Wales, and indicates amendments that are considered desirable to introduce into the Measure. These alteration?, Sir jJqhn Bobertson says, would largely assist the financial arrangements of the colony ; also that it is the intention of Government to take the earliest opportunity of proposing to Parliament other measures for meeting the deficiency in the revenue, and placing the finances of the country on a sound basis.

(Beceived December 29, 2.30 p.m.) Albany, This day. The s.s. Valetta arrived last night with the London mails to November 27th.

Melbourne, Yesterday.

Tbo Ministerial changes foreshadowed by the Argus were fully confirmed to day. Messrs Service and Berry will retire after the conclusion of the Federal Council, which ia expected to finish its work by the 20th of February. Mr Service proceeds to England for tiro years, and the appointment of Mr Berry as Agent* General will probably be gazetted to-day. There is no change to report in the dispute between the wharf labourers and the misters, as, owing to the holidays, the differences have remained in abeyance.
